Suad Hannawi, BhSc, MD, MRCP (UK), FRCP (UK), MIPH (AUS), PHD (AUS), a consultant of Rheumatology at the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) of UAE. Chairman of Rheumatology at MOHAP, Deputy Chairman of the Central Research Ethic Committee (REC), and the Chairman of Dubai Health District REC.After receiving her Bachelor of Science (BhSc), and the Medical Diploma (MD), Dr. Hannawi obtained the fellowship of Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and completed her clinical training of Rheumatology in Australia. Dr. Hannawi proceeded with her academic attainment by obtaining a PhD in Rheumatology.Her Interest in the Public Health motivated her to proceed with getting a Master of International Public Health from University of Queensland, Australia, with Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement.Dr. Hannawi has been awarded as best young investigator in Australia “Princess Alexandra” Research Week in 2007 and awarded by the MOHAP for six consecutive years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 2019, and 2020) for her Scientific Achievements and contributions. In 2017 Dr. Hannawi was chosen as one of the best 5 physicians in the Federal health institutes for the Prime Minister Medal.Dr. Hannawi has published in number of journals and has presented at different national and international conferences. As well, Dr. Hannawi is a reviewer for many international Rheumatology journals.

Dr. Mahmood Hachim has multidisciplinary backgrounds that shaped his medical degree and research career. Dr. Azzam A Maghazachi received a master degree from New York University Medical School (USA), and a PhD degree in Immunology from the University of Manitoba Medical School (Canada). He did post-doctoral fellowships at NYU Medical School (USA) and at the Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Between 1988-2005, he held several senior positions in various institutes and universities in the USA, Canada and Norway. Between 2004-2007 he was the Chief Scientific Officer at Bio-Quant, Inc. in San Diego, and between 2007-2015 was a Professor of Physiology in the faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo, Norway, and he is currently a professor of Immunology in the college of Medicine, University of Sharjah.
He and his group were the first to identify all chemokine receptors on NK cells and were the first to examine the biological activities of chemokines on these cells. Later, they identified lysophospholipids and oxidized lipids receptors on NK cells and investigated the effects of these lipids. They also discovered a new subset of NK cells that secrete both IL-17 and IFN-g, and designated them as NK17/NK1 cells. Dr. Maghazachi is an expert in cancer immunotherapy field and has developed clinical trials using natural killer cells to treat various cancers.
His research interests are cancer immunology, autoimmune diseases, chemokines, and drug mechanisms of action. Dr. Maghazachi is an editor or editor-in-chief on more than 10 scientific journals in the fields of Immunology, Oncology and Neuroscience. He published more than 100 scientific papers as well as book chapters and ebooks.

Professor Suleiman Al-Hammadi joined MBRU in February 2021, and appointed as a Dean for College of Medicine in March 2021. Prof. Al-Hammadi served the CMHS at UAEU for more than 17 years with different higher administrative responsibilities, Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, Vice Dean and Acting Dean. Clinically, he established the first of its kind Allergy and Clinical Immunology Service in UAE by starting specialized clinic at Tawam hospital in 2004. He is a well-recognized leader and clinician in his field at international and regional level.
He is involved in Academic Medicine for almost 20 years, taking care of undergraduate medical students and postgraduate pediatric specialty training. He is continuously enhancing Medical Education and involved at its leadership in UAE. He is representing UAE at the Arab Board of Health Specializations, as a member of the Pediatric Executive committee (2014-2018), and advisory Committee to the Secretary General recently.
Prof. Al-Hammadi is an accomplished scholar in his field, published more than 35 original articles in peer-reviewed journals, some of which are novel and unique to the region, in addition to regular participation and presenting at international, regional, and local conferences

Dr. Fahdah Alokaily is a consultant rheumatologist at Prince Sultan Military Medical City (PSMMC) who regards patient care as her top priority. She has been the Editor in Chief of the Saudi Medical Journal for the past six years during which the impact factor of the journal has doubled. She also cooperates with the Royal College of Physicians in the UK as an international advisor.
Formerly, she held the position of Executive Director of Academic Affairs at PSMMC.
Dr. Fahdah Alokaily contributed significantly to medical training at varying levels. She chaired numerous conferences and organized training courses. She authored, co-authored and reviewed for many journals as well as conducted courses in medical journalism.
In 2020, she was awarded the Order of King Fahad of the third degree for her excellence in the medical field.
After graduating from King Saud University in Riyadh, she pursued her residency training in internal medicine at PSMMC and obtained her ABIM and MRCP. Then, she completed her fellowship training in rheumatology in PSMMC and the Royal London Hospital.

Prof. Hundt completed her thesis for veterinary medicine at the Veterinary School of Hanover in 2008. Until 2013 her research focused on hair follicle biology. Marco Matucci-Cerinic is Full Professor of Rheumatology at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine of the University of Florence and works in the Rheumatology Division of the Careggi University Hospital of Florence. The professor is a member of the prestigious British Royal College of Physicians, the American College of Rheumatology, the Italian Society of Rheumatology and is also an honorary member of the British Society of Rheumatology.
Prof. Matucci-Cerinic has served as executive secretary of ILAR, vice president of SCTC, secretary general of EULAR and founder of the EUSTAR group. He is currently president of the World Scleroderma Foundation and editor of the Journal of Scleroderma & Related Diseases. He is also Associate Editor of the Arthritis Research & Therapy and Clinical Experimental Rheumatology journals and member of the board of the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Rheumatology, Journal of Rheumatology, Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, Pulmonary Circulation and other rheumatology journals.
He has published more than 1000 scientific papers in the field of rheumatology, in particular on the pathogenesis, clinical features and treatment of Raynaud’s phenomenon, pulmonary, cardiac and vascular involvement (digital ulcers) of systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthritis and osteoarthritis.

Khalid Alnaqbi is a Consultant and Head of Rheumatology and Immunology at Tawam hospital, UAE. Dr.L.Jeyaseelan is a Professor of Biostatistics at the MBRU of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dubai, UAE, and a Fellow of International Clinical Epidemiology (INCLEN) network. Dr.L.Jeyaseelan pursued one year Fellowship on Advanced level Biostatistics, Clinical Epidemiology and Epidemiology at the University of New Castle, Australia in 1989-90. I am awarded PhD in Biostatistics in 1989. Since then, Dr.L.Jeyaseelan trained Medical graduates (Bachelor (MBBS) and Masters (MD & MS)), Master’s students in Public Health, MSc Nursing and PhD students in statistical methods, epidemiology and computing.
Dr.L.Jeyaseelan worked as Visiting Professor at the University of Washington from 2004-2006. Dr.L.Jeyaseelan worked in Sultan Qaboos University Hospital as Consultant Professor for two years. During this period Dr.L.Jeyaseelan have conducted 22 workshops for the faculty members of the university. Dr.L.Jeyaseelan have been actively involved in conduction basic and advanced level Biostatistics and Epidemiological workshops since 2001. Dr.L.Jeyaseelan have had collaborations with University of North Carolina, McMaster University and University of Oklohama. Noha Mousaad Elemam graduated from the German University of Cairo in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology with Highest Honors. Then, she joined the master’s program in the Molecular Pathology Research Group (MPRG) in German University of Cairo. Her research work focused on the pathogenesis and epigenetic miRNA regulation of hepatitis C virus infection as well as the role of the immune natural killer (NK) cells in fighting viral infections. She obtained her master’s degree in 2014 with the grade “Excellent” in Molecular Pharmacology.
In 2016, Noha joined the Ph.D. program with a full-granted scholarship in Molecular Medicine and Translational Research at the University of Sharjah, along with a dual Ph.D. degree from University of Lübeck, Germany. During the Ph.D., Noha joined the Immuno-Oncology group with Prof. Azzam A. Maghazachi, a well-known distinguished immunologist, the rheumatologist Dr. Suad Hannawi as well as Prof. Jennifer Hundt. She focused on assessing the role of NK cells in cancer and autoimmune diseases, with colorectal cancer and rheumatoid arthritis as models. Currently, Noha is a postdoctoral research associate at the Sharjah Institute for Medical Research at the University of Sharjah. Noha published more than 30 papers in high impact factor journals and delivered many poster and oral presentations in several international and local conferences.

Dr. Radhakrishnan is a pharmacologist and a US-registered pharmacist in the States of Utah and West Virginia, currently serving as a professor of pharmacology at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University College of Medicine in Dubai. He has more than 20 years of combined experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He received his BPharm degree from the University of Kerala, India; MSc in pharmacology from the University of Strathclyde, UK; and PhD in pharmacology from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He did his postdoctoral fellowship in pain neurobiology at the University of Iowa, USA. Dr. Radhakrishnan has taught pharmacology to pharmacy, medical and dental students in different universities in Malaysia, USA and UAE. He has also served as the Academic Affairs Dean at the Schools of Pharmacy in Roseman University and University of Charleston in the USA. Dr. Radhakrishnan has been an active member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), American Pain Society (APS), and Society for Neuroscience (SFN). He has published 40 peer-reviewed research articles, 5 book chapters and several abstracts. He is one of the editors of Phytotherapy Research (Wiley), and Editorial Board Member of Journal of Pain (Elsevier) and Inflammopharmacology (Springer). Saba Al Heialy is an Assistant Professor of Immunology at Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine, Dubai, UAE and Health Sciences and Adjunct Professor at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. She obtained her PhD degree in 2013 at McGill University where she trained at the Meakins-Christie laboratory, a leading research center in respiratory medicine. She has received numerous awards and most notably the L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science fellowship in 2017 followed by the prestigious L’Oreal-UNESCO International Rising Talents in 2019 for her research in obesity and asthma. She is currently funded for various projects revolving around the immune responses in different respiratory disease such as asthma and COVID-19 in collaboration with international and national institutions. She has published several papers on the immune response in COVID-19 and in particular is interested in the role of obesity in the current pandemic.
