Dr. Mona established the joint committee of the Supreme National child protection in 2013 to lay down the foundation of the child protection system in ”the State of Kuwait”. My work focused in the last eight years on establishing a comprehensive strategy and mechanics of reporting and handling victims of violence against children in collaboration with other governmental and non-governmental sectors. I established training and education programs for professionals on child maltreatment. I shared in Guideline Development Group for “WHO GUIDELINES FOR THE HEALTH SECTOR RESPONSE TO CHILD MALTREATMENT”

She is the chairperson of several committees, DSD Committee, the Kuwait-WHO Child Growth Standards Implementation Committee, The Highest National Accreditation Committee and the Newborn screening committee, and the Executive Director of the Kuwait Newborn Screening Program.

Dr. Muna Ahmed Al-Saadoon holds an MD degree from the Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, and a Ph.D. in Community Paediatrics from Nottingham University, UK.

Member of the State Council; the Dean of College of Medicine & Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman; Chairperson of the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital Board, and an Associate Professor of Child Health and Consultant Paediatrics at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.

Member of the Executive Board of Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB); The National Bioethics Committee (2009 to 2020); Ministry of Health, Child Protection Task Force (2006 to 2019); and Ministry of Social Development, Muscat Region Child Protection Committee (2012 to date).

Dr. Al-Saadoon has considerable experience in the area of child protection and child right and focused her efforts throughout her career in these areas. She has been involved in many activities to increase public and professionals’ awareness of child abuse, and the need for child protection services, in coordination with both the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Development, viz., Member of the Child Protection Task Force. Member of national and Regional Societies, viz., Arab Association to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect; International Society to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN). Her research interests include child abuse and neglect, and child protection.

Dr. Khalid Al Ansari is the inaugural Chairman of Level One Trauma, Emergency Department and Urgent
Care Sidra. He is the founder of National Poison Center and the founder of the Child Advocacy Program in
Qatar. He is also the Chairman of the Sidra wide Hospital Resuscitation Program.
Dr. Al Ansari’s extensive expertise in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medical Care has helped him transform
the delivery of Pediatric Emergency services to patients in Qatar. He is a qualified Pediatrician and
Pediatric Emergency physician with over 23 years of experience in the field.
He is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Professor of Clinical Emergency at Weill Cornell Medical
College-Qatar and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Qatar University. His research interest is in emergency
respiratory diseases, gastroenteritis, pediatric sedation in an emergency child abuse in Qatar.
He is the Chairman of IRB Qatar Biomedical Bank and Chairman of the Ministry of Public Health. National Group
of Child Protection from Abuse Committee and member of the National Disaster Committee.
